Cheese Making Classes and Farm Stay
Come and stay at Gilded Fern Farm for a unique experience. Enjoy the studio apartment which overlooks the creamery and sheep paddock. In the morning, wake up to a farm style breakfast and then head out for some cheese making!
The studio has a kitchen/dining area, bathroom and queen size bed. There is an adjacent room for additional guests if needed that can accommodate 2 people.
A lunch and cheese plate is offered for those attending the cheese making classes. Dinner is also an option for those wishing to stay in for the night.
We are 20 minutes from Concord which has many great options for restaurants:
O Steak and Seafood
We are also 15 minutes from Henniker which has a very nice restaurant, The Colby Hill Inn, where you can usually find our cheeses on the menu!. This also a great option for additional guests as they have lovely rooms in a beautiful setting.
Classes are offered throughout the year except on Sundays. There is a limit of 5 people so that everything has plenty of opportunity to participate. During the class you will learn how to:
-make a lactic set cheese (Chevre for example)
-a semi-hard Manchego style cheese
-a rennet set cheese (bloomy rind cheese such as Brie)
Classes are 2 days: 5 hours the first day and 2-3 hours the following day.
Participants will be given updates on their cheese (online photos) as they age and receive 2 lbs (express mail) about 3 weeks later.
Cost per person: $250 (does not include accommodation).
Studio for 2 people: $150/night (includes breakfast and lunch)
